CITY NEST
Het vierde project is qua schaal veel groter dan voorgaande projecten. Er wordt een optopping voorzien op een bestaand schoolgebouw waarin een aantal studio’s en appartementen worden geplaatst. Niet enkel de units moeten correct ontworpen worden maar ook de samenhang van het gehele complex is belangrijk.
The fourth project is much larger in scale or previous projects. A top-up is planned on an existing school building in which a number of studios and flats will be placed. Not only the units have to be designed correctly but also the coherence of the entire complex is important.
Bij dit project heb ik veel aandacht besteed aan de ruimtelijke werking en de lichtinval. Bij bepaalde units was er beperkte lichtinval, dit probleem werd op een creatieve manier opgelost. Hierdoor ontstond er ook een welbepaalde vormentaal die goed zichtbaar is in de voorgevel.
On this project, I paid a lot of attention to spatial effects and light incidence. There was limited light in certain units; this problem was solved creatively. This also created a well-defined form language that is clearly visible in the façade.
